(Hussey took the banks to be the remains of a\nRoman camp but from his large scale sketch they appear to be\nthe remains of an ancient field system.\n\nThere are a series of lynchets and banks varying in height from\n1/2 to 1 1/2 metres in these pasture fields. Those on the\nNW side of the road are not very well preserved.
