This property (now 11 Upper Glen Road) was hailed as a 'thriving poultry farm' - the Hawkwood Poultry Farm run by Mr Eliot Schneider since 1901 and the proprietor hoped that Hastings & St Leonards would become a the centre of this new industry as reported by the Hastings Mail of the 8th March, 1902.
