H. A. Jepson Ltd.
Located at 11 and 12 Robertson Street, this stationery and toy shop was founded by Harry Jepson. For a while, it traded as a partnership under the name of Brooker and Jepson. The business started in St. Leonards at 72 Norman Road. The business operated as an outlet for Judges Postcards in 1904[1].
By 1930, the shop carried a wide range of stock; the list of departments including the following: Wool, Cabinets, Hand-bags, Stationery, Toiletry, Clocks, Trunks, Rugs, Needlework, Lamp Shades, Sports, and China. In January 1930 a clearance sale was advertised to facilitate what was described as 'Massive Structural Alterations' - the shop then having two telephone lines coming in on the phone number Hastings 747; Jepsons having had this number since 1921[2][3].
