Former name(s) | Silchester Street |
Mapping of 1873 reveals Silchester Road to have been planned, but not yet laid out. Christ Church was not in its present form, merely the smaller building on London Road that exists to this day. The road at that time was named Silchester Street; Silchester Road appearing fully constructed with Christ Church in its current location and under its current name with buildings on both sides of the road by the time surveying of the 1897/8 6" map series had been completed.
