Clive Vale Hotel

From Historical Hastings

The Hotel was a visuall imposing building standing on the junction of Alfred Road and Old London Road. It was marked up on the plans for the area as "No 15 Tavern Lot"[1]. In terms of style the building was very similar to Railway Hotels elsewhere in the county[1] and dominated the surrounding street-scene. A suggestion was made to the author of "An Illustrated History of " that perhaps Ore Railway Station was to be built in the nearby valley as opposed to further down the hill.[1]

The pub was closed circa 1992 and demolished in 2011 to make way for a sheltered housing block.[1]
