Red Lake School

From Historical Hastings

The foundation stone was laid by the Mayor (Cllr. E. M. Ford) and Alderman F. W. Morgan (Chairman of the education committee) on the 30th of April 1939 using a historic trowel[1] The silver trowel used was over 100 years old and removed from Hastings Museum for the occasion. It had previously been used by, and presented to the Rt. Hon. Sarah Countess Waldegrave when laying foundation stones at various churches
