Princess Victoria
From Historical Hastings
Better known as Queen Victoria, she stayed at Crown House whilst on holiday with her mother during 1834/5[1] . Her visit, in part, prompted the clearing of a way around White Rock. Prior to her visit, there was a town meeting called at the Town Hall to debate the arrangements for the visit on the 24th of October 1834[2]
During her stay, she was known to be an enthusiastic supporter for the St Leonards Archers, visiting the Archery Gardens and providing a number of prizes for competitions[3]
