Malcolm Mitchell

From Historical Hastings

Malcolm Mitchell was a government and admiralty surplus shop at 48 High Street between 1946 and 1988[1], many of the lasting memories of the shop being the high piles of clothing and other sundry items. The store was run by three members of the same family; Malcolm, Jim and Tom Mitchell - the latter being the last in the business - the shop closing on his retirement and the entire stock, comprising over 1,000 lots being sold by auction.
