19th Century

By 1880, the Manor House was located at the junction of Dane Road and Charles Road and was the residence of Mr. C. J. and Lady Anne Murray, Mr. C. J. Murray being M.P. for Hastings at that time[2]. Towards the end of this period, the property then appears to have come into the ownership of Mr. & Mrs. Sanger-Davies[3]

20th Century

For around a ten year period between 1930[4] and 1940[5], the building was utilised as a school, the Buchanan School
