Frederick Edward Ades was born in 1890 and for his early years resided at 65 Manor Road with his mother, Mary, and father Ernest[1]. His sisters, Kitty and Laurel were born when he was aged 3 and 5 respectively. By the age of 22, he had moved with his parents and siblings to 32 St. George's Road and was employed as a house painter[2].
