Etymology
Possibly the 'Braybrooke' came from the family of that name which can be traced right back to Robert Le May Braybroc, who married the daughter of Lord Hastings, 5th Comte d'Eu. That connection goes back further to the Duke of Normandy. Eu was part of a French Abbey which owned land in Hastings before the Norman 1066 Conquest
