Black Bess

A fishing vessel constructed by George Tutt[1] known to have been owned by Richard Adams. Whilst trawling on the night of January the 5th, 1862 the vessel was in collision with another, unknown vessel causing substantial damage. The unknown vessel did not respond to any hails requesting assistance, but the Black Bess was able to regain her masts and other equipment sent overboard by the collision and make it back to shore[2]
