Description

This template displays the most remote ancestors of a person and the chain of lineage.

Use

1. create subpage /topancestors
2. type or paste {{topancestors}}
3. save

Algorithm

0. Select a page.

1. If father has a page but not an /ancestors subpage: go to father's page. Go to 1.

2. If mother has a page but not an /ancestors subpage: go to mother's page. Go to 2.

3. If neither father nor mother has a page: create /ancestors subpage, type or paste {{topancestors}}, and save.

4. If father and mother have /ancestors subpages: create /ancestors subpage, type or paste {{topancestors}}, and save.

5. Go to pages of children. Go to 1.

Note that this algorithm is rather elaborate, particularly for large family trees. It is best to first complete the family tree before adding topancestors.
