West St. Leonards Railway Station

Although a railway line had run through this cutting since 1852, a station was not built here until 1887 in order to serve the growth of St. Leonards to the west - much of the gap between what had been known as "West Hill" in St Leonards having been infilled and becoming West Hill Road.
