WW2 First Aid Posts

From Historical Hastings

To deal with the potential casualties from bombing attacks during WW2, various First Aid Posts were set up in the borough. These were reported by the Hastings & St Leonards Observer as initially being in the following locations; The Bathing Pool, Carlisle Parade Underground Car Park, Priory Road School and Hollington School. The Bathing Pool and underground car-park site was intended to be the main supply site and provide training to first-aiders at the other posts.[1]

In addition to this, with the co-operation of the town's hospitals, the Royal East Sussex Hospital, Buchanan Hospital and General Infirmary, the town was designated as a 'Hospital Town' to take casualties from other areas.[1]
