Stubberfield's Garage

From Historical Hastings

Stubberfields Garage was located at 107 Sedlescombe Road North and was main-dealer for a number of marques including Jaguar, Daimler, Rover, Triumph and Land Rover. The garage building underwent a number of substantial changes and extensions starting in the 1950s when a drive-in service bay was added[1], with two illuminated signs[2]; in the 1960s, a forecourt canopy and extension to the left of the property as viewed from Sedlescombe Road North[3]. The canopy was replaced during the mid-1980s[4]. When the garage closed circa 1995, a furniture store then took over the premises[5]; the property being occupied by Kiley's Carpets into 2020.
