Source Park

From Historical Hastings

Described as the World's largest indoor skate park, The Source is located in the former White Rock Baths. Conversion of the derelict swimming pool which had been unused since 1997[1] commenced in 2016 at an estimated cost of £1.5 million. The Source had previously operated from shops in Bexhill and Hastings, with a bowl located in a former church[2].

The conversion won a number of awards including the following[1]:-

  • Winners of Historic England Heritage Angel Award for “Best rescue of an Historic Building”
  • Winner of Historic England Followers & Telegraph Readers People’s Choice Award for a Heritage Building
  • Finalist in the RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) in Building Conservation & Community Benefits
  • Sussex Heritage Trust Commendation in Public & Community Awards 2018

Finalist in Constructing Excellence Preservation & Rejuvenation Category 2018

An additional project commenced in 2020 to convert the sunken courtyard into a space for 'pop up' markets, cafes and other events[3].
