Boys British School

From Historical Hastings

The Boys British School was accommodated beneath Wellington Square Baptist Church and could take up to 150 boys. Funding was partly by means of subscription and partly each boy paying 2d per week. There was a subscription made out by B. Smith Esq. M. P. for 50 boys and he also cleared the debt owed by the school in 1845[1]
