Asda
From Historical Hastings
This supermarket was constructed in 2010 on a site previously occupied by corporation yards and a dairy. To provide an access road, the terrace of buildings at the south west end of Battle Road (Nos 1-15 and 17, 19 (odds)) were demolished[1]. Previous plans for the site included adding a health centre[2] to the buildings but these were withdrawn. To the rear of the supermarket (accessed from Theaklen Drive, the loading bay includes a vehicle turntable so large goods vehicles do not have to reverse when accessing the site.
A petrol filling station was added to the site in 2014[3]
