This corner plot between Cornfield Terrace and Bohemia Road has been occupied by Pizza Hut, then Papa John's Pizza since 2004.
Ray Hart Car Sales, traded on the junction of Bohemia Road and Cornfield Terrace from 1976 to around 2000, selling used vehicles from a pre-existing car showroom run by R. V. Dicker and Co.
Prior to this usage, the building was a pharmaceutical warehouse operated by Theakrock Pharmaceuticals Ltd. from around 1959[1]. and a motorcycle showroom R. MacDonald from 1950[2]. There was an unsuccessful attempt to convert the pharmaceutical warehouse to a car showroom by R. V. Dicker & Co. in 1967[3], although it would appear that they secured temporary usage for seven years as a showroom later that year[4]; the permissions being renewed in 1971 by a different company whose name is unreadable on the planning permission[5], and again in 1973 by Mr. C. H. Mills[6].
Before these developments starting in the 1950s, the site was a vacant plot, occupied by an advertising hoarding in 1949[7].
