Vandeleur Benjamin Crake (1816-1894)

Vandeleur Crake was a lawyer, Justice of the Peace and was associated with a wide variety of organisations in the town. He was the founding president of the Hastings and St Leonards Chess Club[2] and constructed one of the first houses on Essenden Road.
