Storm of 1834

From Historical Hastings

This storm which occurred on 18/19 October 1834[1] which caused much damage along the coast, and partially undermined Rock & Sons coach factory and other businesses at Stratford Place. In addition, it caused increased wear on the alternate route between Hastings & St Leonards which greatly inconvenienced the party of the Princess Victoria when they visited.
