One of a number of garages owned by Malcolm Gates of Battle around the town. This garage stood roughly where St Andrew's Church had been located in Queen's Road and in addition to petrol and second hand vehicle sales was the first filling station licensed to sell alcohol in the town - now part of the supermarket's filling station.
