Originally Bopeep National School which had been at 130 Bexhill Road since circa 1878, Bopeep Mixed School (juniors) opened on 30 August 1895. New buildings were constructed into which the infants school moved on the 16th of May 1898 and became known as West St Leonards Infant Board School[1].
Became a first aid station during WW2 when the pupils were evacuated to Gloucestershire.
The infant and junior schools were amalgamated on 11 April 1967. The school then moved to a new site and building in Harley Shute Road] opening in September 1996[1]. The Bexhill Road buildings were demolished late 1996; the dining hall which had been constructed post-war becoming a community centre. In 2020, a health centre was constructed on the site.
