Gamleys were a chain of toy shops founded in 1919 near Brighton by Bill Lord. The name was a combination of the famed London stores Gamages and Hamleys. The Hastings store occupied the site of Muttons. After expanding to have seventeen stores[1] covering the South East, the brand went into decline during the mid 2000s and finally closed in 2008. Post closure, Halfords had a branch in this location.
