Situated at 18 Upper Maze Hill, during the 1800's the Lindens was a school. They had an early rugby football team and one of the first football teams in Hastings and probably played on the pitch which was situated on The Green, just up the road. Later became a retirement home run by the Salvation Army circa 2002. The building was later extended and split into thirteen separate apartments circa 2006.
